SOCAR Energy Switzerland represents true Swiss quality. Our launch on 1 July 2012 was the most important shift on the Swiss energy market in more than 20 years. The blue, red and green SOCAR flame has become a symbol for superior petrol station service, and raises the bar for both Swiss service stations and the Swiss energy industry.

We are focusing on the needs of mobile customers. That is why we provide freshness and quality at each of our petrol stations. As a competent energy specialist, we advance the Swiss energy market in several areas:

Petrol stations
Our approximately 200 petrol stations in Switzerland meet the highest standards when it comes to quality fuels, services and procurement. We also offer our mobile customers a wide range of fresh products and useful services in our service station shops together with migrolino.

Wholesale
We distribute high-quality fuels, including heating oil products, to Swiss wholesalers from several key strategic locations.

Electromobility
In addition to the existing range of fuels, we are also making targeted investments in developing next-generation mobility and are systematically expanding our role as an all-round mobility provider.

Hydrogen
We are actively promoting the development of a nationwide network of hydrogen filling stations in Switzerland together with other private-sector companies in the industry.

SOCAR Energy Switzerland - successfully established in Switzerland since 2012

On July 1st, 2012, SOCAR took over all business shares of Esso Switzerland GmbH from ExxonMobil – including the entire network of Esso-branded service stations. In September 2012, the first station under the new SOCAR brand identity, reflecting the national colors of Azerbaijan, was officially inaugurated in Zurich. This marked the beginning of the gradual transition from the Esso brand to SOCAR.

Today, SOCAR stands for premium products and services and sets new benchmarks in the Swiss energy and service station market. The management team of SOCAR Energy Switzerland, led by Swiss CEO Edgar Bachmann, has decades of international experience.

On July 1st, 2012, SOCAR Energy Switzerland acquires all shares of Esso Switzerland GmbH from ExxonMobil. At the same time, SOCAR and migrolino AG establish a close partnership that remains successful to this day.
